abolishfamilycourt.org creators and contributors are dedicated to educating the public and advocating for systemic reform to protect the rights and well-being of parents, children, and communities with the most current and up to date data and information about family courts.

Victims and survivors of family court have been forced to navigate complex, flawed state systems that infringed or dismissed fundamental rights in pursuit of profit. Over the past 20 years, states have recognized the rapid expansion of family courts significantly impacted parents, children and state communities. This system appears to entrap parents in a lack of transparency, accountability, and accessible recourse, causing long-term harm during critical stages of a child's development and parental relationships.

It is important for individuals to understand that family courts are administrative agencies rather than traditional courts of law. These agencies goals prioritize financial interests which frequently leads to prolonged cases and the use of children as leverage, potentially resulting in harm. The primary focus should always be on the safety and well-being of parents and children. The language used by financial stakeholders creates the appearance that the system favors specific interests while obscuring the associated risks and how rights are denied to both parents and children.

This is a resource for family issues, health, housing, and other related systems, and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or personalized legal solutions. The focus is on systemic reform and awareness about the state systems that impact families. There is no mechanism to advise or accept clients.

The primary focus has been on addressing the harms inflicted by the administrative family court system, which appears to benefit financial stakeholders at the expense of families. A first in the nation introduction of  legislation is a responsible bill which acknowledges due process rights, the harm to families and the harm states are putting upon themselves. It is an effort to abolish the family court system and restore due process rights. Oppose requiring families to use the administrative family court system model as the sole source for resolving family law matters.
